Zero Tolerance Policy

ECPE Jhunir maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment. We are committed to providing a safe, dignified, and harassment-free environment for all female staff members and students. Any incident must be reported immediately and will be dealt with seriously and confidentially.

Legal Framework

IPC Section 354A - Sexual Harassment of Women

Sexual harassment comes under IPC Section 354 A, introduced by the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2013. It is an Act to provide protection to women from sexual harassment at workplace, to prevent and redress complaints of sexual harassment and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Sexual Harassment Includes:

  • Physical contact and advances - Unwelcome touching, gestures, or physical proximity
  • Demand or request for sexual favors - Any quid pro quo or pressure for sexual acts
  • Sexual colored remarks - Comments about appearance, body, or sexual orientation
  • Showing pornography - Displaying or sharing explicit material
  • Any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature

As per the guidelines of UGC, NAAC & Honorable Supreme Court, an Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell has been established in the college to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to female staff members and students.

POSH Compliance

Ensure all provisions of the POSH Act (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) are implemented effectively in the institution.

Gender Equality

Provide an environment free of gender-based discrimination and promote equality for all members of the college community.

Appropriate Action

Recommend appropriate disciplinary action against the guilty party based on investigation and evidence.

Rights Protection

Protection of the fundamental rights of women and ensuring their dignity and safety at all times.

Counseling Support

Provide information regarding counseling and support services available on campus for victims and witnesses.
