Sexual harassment of women comes under IPC Section 354 A. It was introduced by the criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2013. It is an Act to provide Protection to women from sexual harassment at work place, to prevent and redress complaints of sexual harassment and for matters connected there with or incidental there to. Sexual harassment includes such unwelcome sexually determined behavior as-:


  • Physical contact and advances.
  • A demand or request for sexual favors
  • Sexual colored remarks.
  • Showing pornography.
  • Any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature.

As per the guidelines of UGC, NAAC & Honorable Supreme Court on Anti-Sexual Harassment cell has been established in the colleges to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the female staff members and students of the colleges.

Objectives of Sexual Harassment committee are:-
  • Ensure that all provisions of the POSH (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal)
  • To provide an environment free of gender based discrimination.
  • Recommend appropriate action against the guilt party.
  • Protection of the fundamental rights of a women.
  • To Provide information regarding counseling and support services in our Campus.
